Kern is a small team of senior designers and developers. We build software for companies in the Netherlands and beyond.
Why we work this way
Uncertainty about the price or the work can stall a software project. The same goes for ownership: who gets the code? We settle that up front. You get a fixed price and one team for design and development. You own the code when it goes live.
We choose to stay small. The people you meet on the first call also build your software. You won't be passed to a different team halfway through.
What we stand for
- Say what it costs
- A fixed price up front is harder for us and easier for you. That's the point.
- Say no as well
- If you don't need us, that's the most honest advice we can give.
- Build it to hand over
- We write code as though somebody else takes it over tomorrow. Usually that's true.
- Speak plainly
- In English or in Dutch. Just without jargon that only makes us sound cleverer.
Amsterdam, and the rest of the world
We're based in Amsterdam and do most projects remotely, for clients in the Netherlands and abroad. Time zones haven't caused problems so far. If you're nearby, we're happy to visit.
